Description
Purpose
The TBMS-S51-8O is the main control unit for an optimized TSYS-HS51 battery tower. It is not a stand-alone energy storage device and has no kWh capacity of its own; energy is stored in the connected TB-HS51O battery modules.
Battery management and protection
The unit monitors system voltage, current, temperature and state of charge, controls charging and discharging, and applies battery-system protection functions. The optimizer version also coordinates balancing and expansion of individual TB-HS51O modules.
Communication and maintenance
CAN and RS485 interfaces provide communication with a compatible SolaX inverter and the battery system. Remote fault diagnosis, firmware upgrades and maintenance are supported via the inverter platform.
Installation and configuration
The unit is installed at the top of the battery tower and is intended exclusively for TB-HS51O modules. One tower uses 2–8 modules; larger approved configurations require the additional interconnection components specified by the manufacturer. The mechanical battery base is a separate component and is not included in the BMS dimensions or weight.
