Description
The SolaX X3-ULTRA X3-ULT-20K is a 20 kW three-phase hybrid inverter designed for commercial and industrial solar installations with energy storage. It manages PV generation, high-voltage battery charging and discharging, power supply to connected loads and energy exchange with the grid within a single system.
Up to 40 kWp of total PV capacity can be connected, equivalent to 200% of the rated inverter power. The unit provides 2 independent MPPTs with 4 PV string inputs. A maximum input current of 36 A per MPPT ensures compatibility with modern high-power solar modules.
The inverter operates with high-voltage lithium batteries across a 120–800 V range. Two battery ports, each supporting up to 30 A, provide a maximum combined charging and discharging current of 60 A. If grid power is interrupted, the inverter switches to backup operation in less than 10 ms.
Rated backup output is 20 kVA, while the system can withstand 40 kVA for 10 seconds. This is useful for equipment with higher start-up demand. Up to ten X3-ULTRA inverters can be connected in parallel in both grid-connected and off-grid systems, with generator and microgrid functionality supported.
Intelligent load management supports heat pumps, EV chargers and other controllable devices. Built-in shadow tracking helps optimise energy harvest, while VPP interfaces prepare the system for virtual power plant applications.
Maximum efficiency reaches 98%, with 97.7% European efficiency. Type II surge protection is integrated on both AC and DC sides, while arc-fault protection is optional. The IP66 enclosure and –35°C to +60°C operating range allow indoor or outdoor installation.
